Small groups, where every child is seen
Wren School is an online school for K–12 students in the US and Canada. We teach live, in groups of 2, 4 or 8, with a focus on STEM and strong reading and writing.

Why we named it after a wren
Wrens are tiny brown birds you might miss at first. Then one starts singing, and it’s hard to believe that much sound comes from something so small. They’re quick, curious and clever about finding their way.
We started Wren School around a simple idea: children learn best when they can’t get lost in the crowd. In a class of 25 or 30, a child who is confused can stay quiet for weeks, and a child who is ready for more can spend the hour waiting. In a group of 2, 4 or 8, the tutor notices both on day one.
Our small-group method
1. Live, not recorded
Every class is taught live by a real tutor in a live online classroom. Children ask questions, explain their thinking and get answers on the spot.
2. Grouped by level, not only by age
We place children by grade band and current level, so the pace fits everyone in the room. If a child outgrows a group, we move them.
3. Everyone talks
With a handful of students, every child gets turns to explain, read aloud and work at the virtual whiteboard. Explaining an idea out loud is one of the best ways to really learn it.
4. Understanding before speed
Especially in math and science, we teach the “why” before drilling the “how”. Fluency comes faster when it’s built on understanding.
5. Parents in the loop
You shouldn’t have to guess how classes are going. We keep you informed and are always reachable at hello@wrenschool.com.
Our tutors
Wren School tutors are based in the US and Canada and pass a background check before teaching. We look for people who know their subject deeply, explain it clearly and genuinely enjoy working with children. Interested? Teach with us.
