Small classes. Four languages.

Wren School is a multilingual online K–12 school. Live math, science, coding and English classes in groups of 2, 4 or 8. As children move up, selected subjects are taught in Spanish, Chinese or Russian.

Your first class is free. No payment details needed.

Learn in more than one language

English is the core of every child’s week. As children move up, families can add Spanish, Chinese or Russian, and selected subjects are then taught in that language.

Hola

Spanish

The second most spoken language in the US, and a great fit for bilingual families and Spanish learners.

你好

Chinese (Mandarin)

The world’s most widely spoken first language, for heritage speakers and committed learners.

Привет

Russian

For families who want their children to keep their Russian strong and use it for real school work.

  1. Strong in English

Every child builds math, science, coding and reading in English, in a small group at their level.

  2. Add a second language

Choose Spanish, Chinese or Russian. Children are grouped by how well they already speak it.

  3. Learn subjects in it

Selected subjects, such as math or science, are taught in that language by a fluent tutor, so it becomes a language they think in.

How it works

  1. Book a free trial

Tell us your child’s grade, subjects and time zone. It takes about two minutes.

  2. We find the right group

Children are grouped by grade and current level, not just age, so the pace fits.

  3. Learn live, every week

Classes run in a live online classroom with a tutor who knows every student by name.

  4. Stay in the loop

You hear from us about how your child is doing and what comes next.

Why “Wren”?
The wren is one of the smallest songbirds, and one of the loudest for its size.

We think children are a lot like that. Given a small group and a tutor who is paying attention, quiet kids speak up and curious kids go further.

  • Live classes with a real tutor
  • Groups capped at 2, 4 or 8 students
  • The same tutor every week
  • Groups matched by grade and level

Questions parents ask

Who are the tutors?

We look for people who know their subject well and can explain it clearly to children.

How we keep classes safe.

What does my child need?

A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, headphones if possible, and a stable internet connection. Classes run in a live online classroom in the browser; we send the link before the first class.

How are groups formed?

By grade band, subject and current level. The free trial helps us place your child in the right group.

Can my child switch group size later?

Yes, subject to space in a suitable group. Just email admissions@wrenschool.com.

Is the trial really free?

Yes. No payment details are needed to book a trial class.

How much does Wren School cost?

Plans are per child per month for 8 live classes: from $399 for a group of 8, $649 for a group of 4 and $949 for a group of 2. In Canadian dollars that is $549, $899 and $1,299.

How long are classes, and how often do they meet?

Each class is 50 minutes, and groups meet twice a week, which makes 8 live classes a month.

Which languages are classes taught in?
