What your child learns in grades 9–12 math

The main topics we teach in this band. Each group works at its own level, so the exact order depends on where the children are.

Algebra 1 and Algebra 2

Linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions, with an emphasis on why the algebra works.

Geometry

Proof and reasoning, similarity and congruence, circles, coordinate geometry and right-triangle trigonometry.

Precalculus

Functions and their transformations, trigonometric functions and identities, sequences and series, and an introduction to limits.

Calculus

Limits, derivatives and integrals, with support for AP Calculus AB and BC coursework.

Statistics

Data analysis, probability, sampling and inference, with support for AP Statistics coursework.

What a typical week looks like

Your child has two live 50-minute classes a week with the same small group. High school classes look more like a seminar: a short check-in on what each student is covering at school, a worked example of a hard idea, then problems that students solve and talk through. Students who explain a solution to the group find out quickly whether they really understand it.

Is this the right class for your child?

A good fit for

  • Students who want steady support through a demanding course
  • Students who fell behind after a gap or a move and need to catch up
  • Students ahead of their class who want depth and harder problems

Probably not the right fit

  • A student who needs one-on-one help with a single take-home assignment. A tutor marketplace may suit that better.
  • Anyone looking for a course credit or an official transcript. We don’t issue credits.

How we place your child

Children are grouped by grade and current level, not just age. The free trial class shows us where your child is, and if a group turns out to be too easy or too hard, we move them.

Choose a group size

Same tutor quality and the same topics in every size. Smaller groups give each child more individual time.

Group of 2

Near one-on-one attention with a study partner. Best for closing gaps or moving fast.

CAD $1,299 / month

Group of 4

CAD $899 / month

Group of 8

Small, never crowded. Every child still speaks up, with more ideas in the room.

Questions about grades 9–12 math classes

Do you support AP Calculus and AP Statistics?

Yes. Our 9–12 math classes include support for AP and honors coursework in calculus and statistics. Tell us which course and exam your child is taking when you book the trial.

How do you group high school students?

By the course they are taking and their current level, so a group studies the same material. The free trial helps us confirm the right group.

Is a small group enough before a big test?

For steady progress over weeks, yes. For intensive review of one student’s weak spots right before a test, a group of 2 gives the most individual time.

How much do online math classes for grades 9–12 cost?

Plans are per child per month for 8 live 50-minute classes: from $399 for a group of 8, $649 for a group of 4 and $949 for a group of 2 (CAD $549, $899 and $1,299). The first trial class is free, with no payment details needed.

How often do classes meet?

Groups meet twice a week for 50 minutes, which makes 8 live classes a month. Your child stays in the same small group, so the tutor gets to know how each student thinks.
